Step 1 - Text
Open up your previous document, and create a new layer. Change the foreground / background colors to (f4f8d6) and (ffffff) respectively. Type out your text for your site. Next, change the color of the secondary text to white (ffffff). Secondary text in my case is "tutorial", while the primary text is just "UPUP".
Step 2 - Adding the Flower Shape
Create another layer. Select the "Custom Shape" Tool, and make sure the custom shape mode is set to "Defined Proportions", this way it will stay proportioned to the default size. Select the flower shape, as located in the image above, and place it on your document next to the top-left side of your first letter. This makes it look like it's branching off the letter.
Step 3 - Rotating and Positioning
Make another new layer, and repeat the steps in step 2, except this time make the flower white instead of the tan color. You can do this by hitting "X" on your keyboard to flip the foreground and background colors (make sure you still have your colors in step 1 set.) Next, go to Edit»Transform»Rotate 180º. Once it is rotated 180 degrees, position it to the bottom-right of the last layer to give the same effect to the other side of the text.
Step 4 - Adding the Suns
Create one more layer. Select the shape above, and start adding your suns in accordingly just like in the image. Reverse the colors with the text colors (quickly switch back and forth using the "X" on the keyboard trick), and be sure to adjust the size accordingly like I did in the image.
Done... With Step 2 (OUCH!)
Half-way there, champ. Keep it up and go to the Clean Layout Tutorial Part 3.
